Fort Collins Hughes Stadium Redevelopment – What’s Your Take?
Fort Collins Real Estate Development Plans Face Foes
A proposed plan to put a neighborhood on the former site of Hughes Stadium, Colorado State University’s football field (known as Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in its twilight years) is facing organized opposition from a group called PATHS, or Planning Actions to Transform Hughes Sustainably. A letter from them was sent to the University’s Board of Governors requesting that the deal be cancelled, according to the Coloradoan.com.
Further, people expressed their thoughts on the subject on a Facebook post from the Coloradoan. Click the post to see the comments.
A proposed conceptual plan from Lennar Homes shows a development that would place around 600-700 homes where Hughes Stadium used to be. Maxwell Natural area lies directly to the south and west of the site, and it is located at one of the first significant mountain slopes of the east side of the Rocky Mountains.
Now, I’m not here to re-say what their website says, or to publish information that is contained in the Coloradoan article. Both of them have a derth of detail, and if this topic is important to you, I recommend you check out both of them.
